ATLANTA, GA – xiRAID by Xinnor has achieved remarkable success in the prestigious IO500 research list, securing the second position among Lustre-based solutions in the 10 node research category and ranking #34 in the 10 node research list, while placing #44 in the general IO500 research list. These milestones were announced during the “IO500: The High-Performance Storage Community” event at SC24, demonstrating xiRAID’s exceptional capabilities in providing high-performance storage solutions for demanding HPC environments.

The high-performing solution, provided by MEGWARE, a leading German system integrator for HPC, combines xiRAID Classic, a kernel version of xiRAID, with the Lustre parallel file system. The implementation demonstrated impressive performance metrics, achieving an overall score of 262.33 points on the IO500 benchmark. In detailed testing, this configuration achieved an impressive 86.15 GiB/s in the IOR bandwidth test and 798.80K IOPS/s in the mdtest (metadata performance test).

“This debut in the IO500 rankings validates our commitment to delivering cutting-edge storage solutions for high-performance computing,” said Dmitry Livshits, CEO of Xinnor. “Achieving the second position among Lustre solutions in the 10 node research category, while securing the 44th position in the overall IO500 research list, marks a significant milestone for xiRAID. The performance metrics demonstrate that xiRAID is ready to meet the demanding requirements of research computing environments, providing both the speed and reliability that modern HPC installations require.”

A subset xiRAID + Lustre solution has been successfully implemented at NHR@FAU, as detailed in a comprehensive case study available at Xinnor’s website. This implementation demonstrates the versatility and scalability of the xiRAID solution in production environments.

The IO500 has established itself as the de facto benchmarking standard for HPC storage since its inception in 2017. Publishing bi-annual lists at both ISC and SC conferences, IO500 serves as a crucial benchmark for the HPC community. The project maintains a comprehensive repository of detailed information about production storage system architectures, providing valuable insights for researchers and system designers worldwide.

Xinnor representatives are available throughout SC24 at booth #4603 to provide additional information about xiRAID and its capabilities. Interested parties are encouraged to visit the booth for detailed discussions and demonstrations.
